Screen for red flags
A client asks for a bandaid, but you see a gaping wound.
You are itching to propose major surgery, but it’s a tough sell.
Sometimes, it pays to apply the bandage first and put the fire out.
They probably have a good reason for acting like they do.
Maybe they’re patching up to sell. Future owners’ problem, right?
It’s up to you to find out.
Avoid falling into the trap of trying to solve all issues.
Instead, identify and target the issues that offer the highest ROI that the business owner finds valuable.
Bonus points for pricing the solution as a fraction of that value.
However, you will still encounter clients to whom delivering what they want will go against your principles.
Screen for red flags and know:
Your integrity is worth more than any client.
P.S. I just noticed that I passed a 1-month streak a few days ago; thank you for being here! 🙏🏻 Let me know what topic or email resonated most with you, and if you have a friend who would enjoy this, why not give them a cc? :)
