Market yourself
When I’m stuck on a problem, my instinct is to push through it.
But sometimes, the solution is not to push through.
It’s to take a break.
I’ve done my fair share of all-nighters to deliver some code that didn’t work the next morning.
As I get older and that youthful fire fades, my priorities have shifted.
It’s about what I can sustain long-term while starting a family.
The hardest part about being on your own is putting in the work with delayed feedback.
You need to believe that what you’re working on is valuable to someone and keep giving.
So, for everyone who’s in the same boat, I hear you.
The market is tough.
The competition is fierce.
But you have a lot of experience that someone might need right now.
The only question is, how do they find you?
Learn to market yourself. It’s a skill worth developing whether you’re looking for a job, starting a side hustle, or going freelance.
Yours,
Taj
P.S. I promised the turnaround yesterday, but the ideas are bigger than an email. Keep your eyes open for something better.
