Better product, easier growth
If the tech team focuses on making the product better (easier to use, more responsive, higher quality), that makes everything else easier.
A better product is more satisfying to use. A better product is more fun to work on. A better product is easier to sell.
There are only two ways to grow a business. You can get more people to buy or get the people you have to stay longer and pay more.
Both are easier to do when the product is better.
It’s not the only factor in growing a business, but it’s the baseline.
Imagine the opposite. Your product sucks. It’s difficult to use. It’s slow.
It’s going to be tough to sell. Tough to hire. Tough to improve.
But, it’s possible to focus on quality too much too early.
If you’re just starting out, make sure it solves a problem first. You need some quality, but sacrificing too much agility for quality will limit how many swings you can make.
That’s why it pays to take on tech debt strategically so that when you need to double down on quality, you’re not facing an impossible rewrite.
Yours,
Taj
