Everyone can be a full-stack dev now

If you work mostly on the backend and infrastructure, any user interface you build looks like the game Universal Paperclips:

I’ve been playing around today with tools like v0.dev. After a few prompts, it looks like this:

Claude had a different take:

It’s not up to being shipped to production, but it’s not bad for a minute of work. If you spend some time tweaking, you can get decent results.

Maybe not *exactly *what you wanted, but there are plenty of use cases for good enough though.

These AI tools are already changing the way we build prototypes.

It seems that all these tools are relatively cheap because they are burning through VC funds like there’s no tomorrow.

The problem is that the AI models are expensive to train and expensive to run. We’ll see if we can sustain this long term.

I have no predictions for that, but I’m happy about the productivity gains that adopting these tools can give you and your team.

Taj

P.S. If you’re looking to develop a new addiction this weekend and it somehow flew below your radar until now, I’ll just leave this here: Universal Paperclips.
