Days that move the needle forward

Every day to push things forward. Often, the days that move the needle most are not the busiest.

One key hire.

One key conversation.

One key technical decision.

But these usually have leading effort that goes into them.

Screening countless CVs, reaching out, interviewing, reading through the docs, talking to experts in your network, doing research.

When you are laying the groundwork, it may feel like you are stuck in the mud.

I check in daily with myself to see if I am doing the research that’s needed or pushing back a decision I know I have to make, because my knowledge is not perfect.

Having a bias towards action with an appropriate amount of research is the sweet spot. But finding it takes a lot blunders.

The only way to learn is to make those mistakes and learn to do a bit better.

Yours,

Taj
