Keeping links and assets organized

If you’re a bit like me, you like to keep all your links in one space. It’s annoying to search through my tabs and fish out the page I want to open.

I also don’t like the bookmarks bar.

But a simple website that’s easy to configure and has links to all the resources I’m using is exactly what I like.

Just open that, see some basic status and go wherever I need to from there.

I’ve been playing around with Heimdall on my local network, but settled on Homepage.

I’ve recently used it on the project to link all the prod links, monitoring, and social media accounts for easy access.

It’s like a bookmark bar but for the team. There’s also very little work to get it up and running.

You need a docker server, a few commands, and a YAML file for configuration.

This was also a good excuse to play with Google Cloud Identity-Aware Proxy for securing the instance, but that’s a story for another day.
