The vacation test

Here’s a test:

When you are in a leadership position and have to step away for a day or a week, does everything break, or does it keep going the way you set it up?

If things stay on track when you are away, you’ve done a fantastic job.

If things get worse when you are away, you have a lot of work to do.

If things get better when you are away, it’s time to reflect.
