Product ♥️ Engineering = Results

The humble product manager is critical in bridging the gap between business and tech.

They are tasked with understanding customer needs, market demands, and company goals.

They develop features and initiatives that increase the product’s value for users, which grows the company.

The thing is…

There is a difference between what we would ideally want to build and what we can build with our resources.

Quick feedback between tech and product is needed to deliver the most value for the investment (time, resources).

Too often, this communication loop is broken. A PM is either a Jira Master or lives in a different department and builds in isolation.

Being an excellent PM requires more than thinking about customers and the product.

They must also tie it all to business goals and support it with numbers.

However, senior management also influences how the processes and teams are set up.

So, if you want an organization with an effective tech team, you must educate your PMs and create teams where Product and Engineering people work toward a common objective.

And to do that, you need to take egos out of the equation.
