Start small, grow big

Becoming a strategic leader means shifting most of your priorities.

This is hard because writing code and deployment scripts is familiar.

You’re good at it.

You had years to practice.

Focusing on strategy is new.

You’re a beginner again.

And being a beginner sucks.

So, shift gradually and don’t take off your plate everything you enjoy.

That’s a sure way into trouble.

Instead, start with a few solid blocks of high-impact strategic work per week and build up from there as you improve.

Best regards,

Taj
