Raycast to boost my productivity

I just tried Raycast and it’s seriously changed my workflow on a Mac.

It’s a total replacement for the weak spotlight search, but supercharged. If you’re old like me, you remember another tool like that, Alfred.

I could never love Alfred. The design was ugly, and yes, it has some nifty features like clipboard history and could do quick math, but Raycast takes it on another level.

It has a ton of features out of the box, window management, quick math, currency conversions, calendar overview, but the real power is in the ecosystem.

People have written an extension for everything. Want to open a vscode project? Sure.

Search GitHub pull requests? Yep.

Write a custom python script that downloads and syncs all your repos, without having to open the terminal? You can do that too.

And with a bit of effort, you can set it just the way you need it.

Everything with keyboard shortcuts.

Move this window left, this window right, check calendar, yes, open the google meet window.

I’m impressed at the first glance and in the next few days I’ll write a few custom features for sure.

I expect my mouse usage to drop significantly. It’s the terminal for my gui I’ve been waiting for.

Not sposored, I’m just sharing something I found really good to optimize my workflow.
