Why I email daily
I got a question recently from someone who wants to get into writing a newsletter.
Why daily?
For me, it’s all about building a consistent habit. If I have to do it daily, it’s like brushing my teeth.
I’ve been emailing for 70 days in a row. Haven’t skipped a day.
I started enjoying my new evening routine—just me, you, and a thought that gets expanded into the newsletter.
Benefits
I’ve done many repetitions, and it’s getting easier to write.
I got great feedback from many of you. Honestly, I was expecting people to throw in the towel after a few emails, but most of the people I contacted personally stayed.
I also created 70 pieces of content from ideas that used to be floating around my mind, which I plan to turn into other formats, such as long-form articles or videos.
What to improve
I’ve built a consistent practice. Now, it’s time to let people know that it exists.
There’s a step to add to start consistently cross-posting to X and LinkedIn so that new and organic audience has the chance to see it.
Secondly, I’ll create a few freebies by bundling common themes I’ve explored into an email sequence like a short course.
And with the daily email, after this experimental first period, I’m sticking with it. Let’s go for a year.
P.S. Thank you for sticking around. It means the world ♥️.
Best regards,
Taj
